LIGHTS-OUT MANUFACTURING

The Mycenter-HX800iLTGA horizontal machining center from Kitamura Machinery enables shops to incorporate unmanned machining that will optimize their uptime as they compete in the automotive, aerospace, heavy construction, oil field and power generation industries.

Kitamura Machinery of USA, Inc. (Wheeling, IL) features its new Mycenter-HX800iLTGA heavy duty horizontal machining center with a 6-station Flexible Pallet Container (FPC) System.

With rigid construction, ultra-high accuracy, intuitive controls and the ability to move easily between difficult materials and high-speed productions, the Mycenter-HX800iLTGA demonstrates the core qualities critical for lights-out production. Its highly reliable Multi-Pallet Systems enable manufacturers to incorporate and unmanned machining development process for a multi-tasking machining environment that optimizes uptime.

The Mycenter-800iLTGA’s superior design and beefy 68,200 lb net weight makes it ideal for the automotive, aerospace, heavy construction, oil field and power generation industries. An expansive work envelope (work size of Ø59.1 in x 59.1 in), pallet size 31.50 in x 31.50 in, is well suited for heavy-duty, oversize part machining. X-, Y-, Z-axis stroke of 55 in x 49.21 in x 52.16 in, clamping power of 30,710 lb and a table load capacity of 4,400 lb allow for the machining of larger work pieces and complex fixturing with ease. The FPC offers manufacturers more speed and efficiency, the capability for additional production output and a cost-effective start toward factory automation.

The Mycenter-HX800iLTGA comes standard with a 35 hp, 12,000 rpm two-step geared, dual contact spindle that delivers 280.3 ft-lb of max torque with high end fine finish capability. An optional 8,000 rpm spindle is available with output max torque of 699.3 ft-lb. The unique multi-step, energy efficient spindle design demonstrates savings of between 40 percent and 50 percent in kW hours for increased productivity and savings.

Flexible pallet container systems provide manufacturers with a way to keep running their equipment without increasing their overhead. They must count on the machining centers to do the job right while running unattended for hours at a time. The precision, accuracy and reliability of Kitamura machining centers make them ideal for this type of lights-out application. Add in the durability to maintain accuracies and specifications over many years and this is an investment that keeps providing a return well into the future. www.kitamura-machinery.com
