Spindle drives are becoming larger and more efficient in the case of machining centers and machine tools. To guide higher streams of energy, larger conductor cross-sections are required. As a result, servo cables are becoming thicker with larger bend radii, and in some cases are going beyond the permissible space of the machine tool.

Oil resistant and notch resistant, as well as halogen free and suitable in deep-temperature applications, the CF270-UL-D corresponds well to the needs of the machine tool industry.

A shielded single core cable, like the Chainflex® CF270-UL-D from igus (East Providence, RI) is an ideal solution. Designed like a spindle cable, the CF270-UL-D is much thinner, ideal for supplying maximum power while staying within the confines of the machine tool.

The design of the spindle cable from igus is simple, and corresponds with igus’ criteria for quality in its cables: a bend resistant conductor cable made of find strands is shielded with a closed mesh and bend resistant copper wire braid with 80% optical covering to ensure excellent, permanent electromagnetic compatibility. The outer jacket is made of a low-adhesive PUR mixture in accordance to igus Energy Chain® cable carrier requirements.

Oil resistant and notch resistant, as well as halogen free and suitable in deep-temperature applications, the CF270-UL-D corresponds well to the needs of the machine tool industry. Low priced, this cable is still a high-quality alternative to the available CF310-UL cable. The CF270-UL-D is available in 6 different conductor nominal cross sections, outside diameters, and copper numbers.
