Laboratory Testing Inc. (LTI; Hatfield, PA) has received an updated special process certification from GE Transportation Aviation’s S-400 Program. High Cycle Fatigue Testing (Code AI0O) and E50TF133 Grain Size Evaluation of light etching indications (Code AIXZ) have been added to LTI’s extensive list of approved test methods. Prior to these services, Fracture Toughness Testing was added to LTI’s S-400 Certification in September 2012.

Laboratory Testing has been providing services for GE manufacturers for years, and keeps growing the list of approvals to meet their requirements. LTI was first granted approval by the GE Transportation Aviation S400 program in 2001.

Previously, the Lab was GE Aircraft Engine-approved since the 1980s. The full list of GE approvals currently held by Lab Testing covers a wide-range of Metallic Materials Test Lab Capabilities performed in the Chemistry, Metallography, Mechanical Testing and Nondestructive Testing Labs. This approval allows LTI to perform testing services directly for GE and for manufacturers contracted to supply parts for GE Transportation Aviation products.

The company offers a full line of aerospace testing services for metals, alloys and polymers. In addition, LTI’s Chemistry Lab analyzes powdered metals, ferro alloys, ores, composites and ceramics. All test results are documented in Certified Test Reports. The Lab’s materials engineers also provide failure analysis investigations and reporting, when materials or products do not meet performance expectations.

The Laboratory is Nadcap-accredited in materials and nondestructive testing, A2LA accredited to ISO/IEC 17025 in materials testing services and our A2LA accreditations for chemical and mechanical testing meet the requirements of GE Aviation S400.

Laboratory Testing is an independent, accredited testing and metrology laboratory in business since 1984. The company specializes in metals and plastics testing, material analysis, nondestructive testing, failure analysis, calibration services, dimensional inspection, specimen machining and certified reporting of results.

The lab is accredited to ISO/IEC 17025 by PRI/Nadcap and A2LA, which complies with ISO 9001 and ISO 13485. Testing services include mechanical testing, chemical analysis, metallurgical testing, corrosion analysis and nondestructive testing such as ultrasonic testing, magnetic particle inspection, liquid penetrant inspection, X-ray inspection, visual inspection and hydrostatic pressure testing. Chemistry services are available for metals, powdered metals, ores, ferroalloys, composites, ceramics and plastics.

The company’s metrology division performs dimensional inspection and dimensional, pressure, force, torque, electrical, temperature, mass and vacuum calibration services traceable to NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology). Field calibration, repairs, new instruments and replacement parts are provided.
