Applied Robotics Appoints New President

John Serflilippi is the new president and interim chief executive officer of this manufacturer of robotic end-of-arm tooling.

Applied Robotics, Inc.(ARI; Glenville, NY), a leading global manufacturer of robotic end-of-arm tooling and connectivity solutions, has announced the appointment of John Serfilippi as the president and interim chief executive officer upon the retirement of Michael F. Quinn, effective August 1 of this year.

Quinn, who joined Applied Robotics after 45 years of senior management and technical experience at the Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory supporting the U.S. Naval Nuclear Program, has played a substantial leadership role in reshaping ARI for long term success.

“Applied Robotics will benefit from John’s expertise and dedication to the employees and company as well as his strong commitment to the success and growth of ARI and our joint venture in Europe, ARE. I am absolutely confident the company is in good hands,” said Quinn.

Serfilippi has over thirty years of corporate experience, seven years with ARI, and until recently was the director of operations. Serfilippi brings a broad-based experience to the position which includes engineering, manufacturing, and sourcing management.

“Mike certainly upped the bar in strategic planning, system engineering, and root-cause analysis and we wish him all the best,” said Serfilippi.

Applied Robotics, headquartered in Glenville, is an ISO-9001:2008 registered, employee-owned company serving the world’s automation market. Founded in 1983, the company designs and manufactures end-of-arm tooling and connectivity solutions intended to solve complex automation problems and improve efficiencies.

In other news, the company is expanding its strategic partnership with MJM Sales, Inc. (Shelby Township, MI) to create additional coverage for existing and prospective customers. MJM Sales will now work the Michigan, Wisconsin, Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Missouri, Kansas, Alaska, Hawaii, Ontario, Canada, and Manitoba, Canada General Industry market in addition to the Automotive market for the company

For six years, MJM Sales has been representing ARI and bringing their additional expertise in product selection, training and field service to customers in the automotive market. With this expansion, MJM will now also bring their proficiencies to the general industry market.
