AutoCrib, Inc. (Santa-ana, CA) an innovative manufacturer of automated inventory vending systems that have become the de-facto industry standard, announced that it has acquired the Small Parts Storage System (SPSS) technology assets and products from Lauyans & Company, an engineering and manufacturing company providing conveyor systems, storage systems and permanent magnet solutions. This strategic acquisition will enable AutoCrib to integrate Lauyans’ vertical storage solutions into its own product suite and support the company’s growth into the direct materials segment of the manufacturing industry.

Under the agreement, AutoCrib will procure all solutions and technology of Lauyans’ SPSS, a vertical lift module technology. These solutions will help round out AutoCrib’s current offerings, which deliver automated inventory vending support to customers including manufacturing companies, airlines, military, retailers, distributors and others who want to provide 24/7 access to inventory — while maintaining complete control and 100 percent inventory accuracy.

“Since its founding in 1994, AutoCrib has placed a priority on pioneering technology and delivering innovative, dependable industrial vending solutions at a competitive price,” said Steve Pixley, the president and founder of AutoCrib. “The strategic acquisition of technology assets and solutions from Lauyans & Company will enable us to continue its tradition of excellence. We will continue to provide turnkey solutions that include software, machines configuration and set-up, training, integration to manage inventory in real-time, and ongoing service and support.”

Details of the acquisition were finalized today and terms take effect immediately. Lauyans will maintain operation of its three other product categories: Engineered Product Solutions, Overhead Conveyor Solutions and Permanent Magnet Solutions.

AutoCrib delivers automated inventory vending systems (software and machines) for manufacturing companies, airlines, military, retailers, distributors and others who want to provide 24/7 unmanned access to inventory while maintaining complete control and 100 percent inventory accuracy. Their software provides real-time information on all inventory in the system from any computer, tablet or smartphone anywhere on the planet.

The company has been providing industrial vending solutions since 1994 and has deployed more than 20,000 systems worldwide. Its product line includes handheld scanners, automated lockers, traditional coil/helix machines, a PPE specific dispensing machine, RFID systems, vision based tool cabinets as well as small and large robotic carousel systems with optional counting scale attachment.

The systems can be managed by the company’s powerful client/server software or its web based application, AutoCrib.net. This powerful software, which provides end-users with real time usage data and in many cases, updates their ERP systems. This allows manufacturers to dramatically reduce inventory costs by as much as 50 percent through increased accountability and tighter access control.
