“We are pleased to announce that we have added Jim Foust and Tim Ellis to our team. Both are esteemed and accomplished professionals and recognized subject matter experts in the machine tool industry,” says Harold Schoch, the vice president of technical services, Region Americas, Konecranes MTS.

Foust brings over 35 years of experience to the sales team. He previously worked at VMC Technologies, Inc. (Troy, MI) where he served as product manager for their large CNC machine tool applications for 11 years. He also served as the vice president of sales at J. “We are pleased to have Jim on board, as we strive to give our customers the benefit of his experience and depth of knowledge with the entire family of Giddings & Lewis products,” says Schoch.

Tim Ellis has over 45 years of experience in the machine tool industry, and 38 of those years were with Giddings & Lewis. He joins the Konecranes MTS team as a technical sales consultant. Previously, Ellis worked with Fives Giddings & Lewis, where he served as service manager and manager of remanufacturing sales for many years. He also served as executive project manager/resident field engineer in the Boston area for Giddings & Lewis Machine Tool Co. for more than a dozen years prior to accepting a sales management position at the company’s headquarters in Fond du Lac, WI, in 1990.

“I am confident that Tim’s knowledge will help us provide optimum technical solutions to customers who need help servicing, rebuilding and remanufacturing their Giddings & Lewis equipment,” says Schoch.

According to Schoch, Giddings & Lewis horizontal boring mills are used in every imaginable industry, from general manufacturing to mining, energy and heavy equipment. Older machines with their seasoned, cured cast iron are esteemed for their superior dampening characteristics and dynamic stiffness. “We’re already doing more CNC control retrofits and mechanical rebuilds of Giddings & Lewis machines than anyone else in the region,” says Schoch. “With the help of Tim Ellis and Jim Foust, customers can absolutely be sure that no one else can do it better.”
