Waukesha® Metal Products de Mexico (San Luis Potosí, MX) has been certified to the ISO/TS 16949 standards by NSF-ISR. The ISO/TS 16949 includes the ISO 9001 standard and adds supplementary requirements that apply specifically to the automotive industry. The audit was conducted by NSF-ISR at the San Luis Potosí facility in Mexico in February and was completed successfully in April.
To maintain process improvements, surveillance audits are conducted once a year and certificates are renewed every three years. This addition to quality management’s capabilities allows this plant to provide increased product performance and improved quality and cost efficiency as a Tier 2 supplier to the automotive industry. Obtaining the ISO/TS 16949 certification was essential to the company to best serve the automotive industry. These markets produce safety critical products, and the company recognizes the crucial role quality plays in its manufacturing process.
Waukesha Metal Products’ San Luis Potosí facility is expected to be awarded with the ISO 14001 environmental standard in February of 2016.
