In response to the rapid growth of its global customer base, Glebar Company (Ramsey, NJ) has opened a new parts distribution facility in Dublin, Ireland, that provides 24-hour turnaround for critical machine components for European customers.

The facility is the company’s third rapid-response parts distribution outlet, in addition to its Japanese location in Tokyo that provides next-day delivery of critical components to its Asian customer base, and its headquarters facility in Ramsey. The company will be opening another distribution facility in Costa Rica to service its many medical customers in that region.

“Approximately 35 percent of our overall revenue, on average, is international,” said Adam Cook, the chief executive officer of Glebar. “We pride ourselves on being a global service leader, and this necessitates being able to provide essential parts on a 24-hour turnaround basis. We sell solutions. The machine tool is only the avenue to which our solutions are delivered, and service and the availability of next-day parts is one of those critical solutions.”

As an innovative engineering and manufacturing firm specializing in precision grinding systems used to manufacture parts for a wide range of industries and applications from medical guidewires to titanium aerospace fasteners, the company maintains a broad inventory of specialized parts that are available to their customers on a timely basis. “In addition to our 24/7 parts delivery commitment, we now offer customized inventory and service contract programs to our global customer base,”  added Mark Scanel, the vice president of customer service.

In 2015, Glebar consolidated separate administrative and manufacturing locations into a new and larger, fully integrated, state-of-the-art headquarters and manufacturing facility in Ramsey. The 44,560 sq ft facility enables the engineering, technical services, application and production groups to work closer together, resulting in reduced lead times for its machine systems and aftermarket parts.

“We have invested millions of dollars in new capital equipment, automation and the new facility in order to create a world class manufacturing experience for our employees and customers,” said John Bannayan, the president of the company. “It is critical to our customers that we provide world class service and best in class lead times for quality parts and tooling. Our new European distribution center is another step toward our continuous improvement mentality.”

Glebar is an innovative, vertically integrated manufacturing company that designs and configures its standard platform of modular machine systems – from an affordable job shop machine to fully automated, lights-out grinding packages – to provide custom solutions focused on process improvement and margin enhancement, maximizing a customer’s return on investment.
