ESAB Welding and Cutting Products (Florence, SC) announced that AGT Robotics (Rivières, Quebec), has become the first North American automation partner in their Integrator Partnership Program. Under the arrangement, ESAB provides them with deep access to their technical, sales, marketing and distribution resources, as well as preferred pricing on equipment. In return, AGT Robotics provides the ability to offer turnkey automated welding and cutting systems, as well as service and support throughout Canada and the U.S.

“By combining our expertise in automation equipment and filler metals with their ability to engineer custom solutions, we offer customers a total solution for maximizing productivity and quality,” stated Mike Castner, the vice president of capital goods at ESAB. “Our company has long used the Integrator Partnership Program in Europe and now we are expanding this successful program to North America.”

With more than 20 years of experience, AGT Robotics specializes in low-volume, high-mix robotic welding, robotic plasma cutting, robotic gouging and robotic grinding. Industries served include structural steel, tanks and vessels, rail car, heavy fabrication and machinery fabrication. “We make small-batch fabrication a reality by using proprietary software in combination with 3D laser scanners that automatically create custom-made robotic trajectories for each part,” explained Louis Dicaire, the vice president of marketing at AGT Robotics. “Products such as our BeamMaster and GougeMaster incorporate an unprecedented level of integration between software, scanners, and industrial robots. We can eliminate the expensive robotic programming that previously prohibited low-volume, high-mix automation.” (Watch video of automated beam assembly below)

AGT Robotics now has access to the full line of ESAB products and core automation solutions that include the Aristo® MIG and Origo MIG power sources combined with ESAB’s WeldCloud™ online data management platform. ESAB high-productivity automated welding processes include SuperPulse™ for superior productivity and quality on aluminum and stainless steel, ICE™ (Integrated Cold Electrode) submerged arc welding for deposition rates greater than 70 lb/hr, and SAT (Swift Arc Transfer) for welding steel with OK AristoRod™ 12.50 non-copper coated steel wire.

“SAT GMAW process differentiates our company because it enables wire feed speeds of up to 1,200 ipm, deposition rates up to 20.2 lb/hr and deep penetration without vulnerability to lack-of-fusion defects,” stated Castner.
