Arno Werkzeuge GmbH (Ostfildern, Germany), a high precision manufacturer of cutting tools, positive- and negative-style inserts, double-sided inserts, tool systems and auto lathe holders with through-tool coolant systems and Swiss-style turning systems, has announced the appointment of Martin Gardner as the president of Arno Werkzeuge USA, LLC (Harvard, IL), their headquarters and base of operations for the Americas.

Gardner is responsible for managing all U.S. operations, including product line management, sales, business development and marketing for the North American-based company. He will also develop and manage the channel, agent representation and distribution of their cutting tool products for machine shop/metalworking customers in Mexico.

Beginning as an apprentice at a machine shop in England, Gardner has over 30 years of machine and cutting tool industry experience with expertise in sales management, business management, product management, engineering and channel development for machine tool and cutting tools companies. He has served at various leading companies in the metalworking industry, including Mazak’s UK Machine Tool Division and Stellram, a Swiss-based cutting tools manufacturer. He moved to Stellram’s U.S. operations in Nashville, TN, which was later acquired by Kennametal. Most recently, he served at Arno USA in business development prior to being named the president of the company.

“I am proud to be a part of a company with such a unique and impressive history and a true passion for engineering and manufacturing precision cutting tools,” said Gardner. “Our cutting tools are premium quality products, ideal for non-ferrous, high temperature alloys in challenging lathe, turning and grooving operations for aerospace and medical applications. I look forward to making a significant impact on our future growth in North America.”

Arno has a heritage dating back over 100 years, initially as H.B. Rouse and then later as an acquisition made by Arno Werkzeuge. They have been manufacturing and selling high quality cutting tools and inserts for customers in the machine tool and metal cutting industry since the establishment of the company in 1962.
