Kyzen Corporation (Nashville, TN) was recently selected to host the 2018 OSCG Technical Meeting (Oxygen Standardization Coordinating Group) at Vanderbilt University, the Sarratt meeting area, from July 31 to August 2, 2018. An annual assembly for the five branches of the United States and international military forces, as well as many applicable industry leaders designing and manufacturing oxygen systems for the warfighter, the OSCG annual meeting offers industry leaders the unique opportunity to share ideas and exchange knowledge, while networking with government affiliates about recent developments pertaining to medical and aviation oxygen needs.

“It is an honor to be selected by OSCG to host such an important gathering,” said Tom Forsythe, the executive vice president of Kyzen. “Nashville is a great city with rich history, great food and fantastic people. But most importantly, this is our chance to offer our visitors a taste of Nashville’s eclectic diversity.”

The OSCG grew out of a Navy initiative in 1959 to study oxygen standardization documents. This study revealed a need for interdepartmental coordination in the fields of oxygen systems. An ad hoc committee was formed and the first meetings were held soon after. The group has taken several forms since 1959 but its overall purpose has not changed. OSCG is co-chaired by a subject matter expert from each of the three services: U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, and U.S. Air Force. The group’s expertise spans areas as diverse as aviation, space, medical, manufacturing, safety, fire prevention, testing and cleaning, as well as material sciences. Membership to the group is voluntary and open to the military services, government agencies, and industry partners both within the U.S. and in NATO countries.
