AWS Pipeline Welding Conference Makes Its Debut

Welding has always been an integral part of pipeline construction. It all goes back to the days when hand-held oxyacetylene torches were used to connect pipes together in the field. Much has happened since, and what has happened or, better yet, is happening will be the topics for an AWS conference on Pipeline Welding. The conference will be held on June 4-5, 2013 in Houston.

Our featured speakers will cover a multitude of topics, including the welding of high strength X80 pipe steels, orbital processes used in pipeline construction throughout the world, the new FRIEX system from Belgium and many other exciting topics.

Held in Alberta’s capital Edmonton, the Western Manufacturing Technology Show (WMTS) is Western Canada’s definitive showcase for manufacturers of products ranging from machine tools, welding equipment, design engineering and plant maintenance to process control and automation. WMTS is the major forum for manufacturing professionals from Alberta and all of Canada to source machinery, equipment, supplies & services for all aspects of their operations.

The Beijing Essen Welding & Cutting Fair (BEW), which is co-sponsored by the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society (CMES), Welding Institution of CMES, China Welding Association (CWA), Welding Equipment Committee of CWA, German Welding Society (DVS) and Messe Essen GmbH, is one of the world’s two leading professional welding exhibitions.

BEW attracts tens of thousands of professionals in the welding industry (manufacturers, distributors, agents, research institutions, government departments, etc.) every year and has been successfully held for 17 years, with the scale expanding each time. The increasing number of exhibitors includes many famous manufacturers such as Lincoln, Panasonic, ESAB, Golden Bridge, Kaiyuan Group, ABB, Beijing Time and others that come regularly and ensure the quality and standard of the fair.

This year the gross exhibition area is 10,6800 sq m, with nearly 1000 exhibitors from 26 countries. Among them, 202 exhibitors are from overseas. Thus far, 45,491 visitor entries from 74 countries and areas plan to attend the fair. The visitors are mainly from the machinery manufacturing sector that builds pressure vessels, automobile manufacturing, railway locomotives, oil pipelines, shipbuilding, aviation and aerospace industrial sectors.

More than 100 domestic and foreign professional journals, related exhibitions and websites will report on the fair.

As the largest and the most influential event, BEW provides a platform for domestic, as well as import and export trade all over the world.
