Welding

Material joining by the use of power sources, gases, nozzles, tips, wire, filler metals, manual and automated processes, robots, jigs, turntables, consumables and other equipment assisted by Computer Aided Design (CAD), Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) and Computer Numerical Control (CNC).

Metal Cutting

Material removal through cutting, turning, milling, drilling, grinding, tapping and more using machinery such as laser cutting systems, plasma cutting systems, oxyfuel cutting systems, milling machines, drill presses, lathes, horizontal machining centers, vertical machining centers, turning centers, multitasking machines, electrical discharge machines and other equipment assisted by Computer Aided Design (CAD), Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM), Computer Numerical Control (CNC), automation and robotics.

Tooling & Workholding

Mills, drills, taps, reamers, boring bars, cutters, inserts, dies, punches, abrasive wheels and other devices used to cut, mill, drill, grind, tap, notch, punch and form material. Chucks, fixtures, clamps, blocks, angle plates, tooling columns, dies and other mechanisms used to position, locate and hold material as it is being cut, milled, drilled, ground, tapped, notched, punched, formed or welded.

Measurement & Inspection

Manual and automated analog and digital gages, instruments, scales, tests and other devicesand techniques used to report and record a precise physical length, orifice, weight, temperature, pressure, current, voltage or other process value being generated from the forming, fabricating, welding or cutting of material.

Maintenance

Tools, actions and systems used to retain and upkeep, repair, overhaul and restore any mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and pneumatic machinery or other devices to a state in which they can perform their required routine functions to a desired specification without becoming out of order or breaking.

Environmental Health & Safety

Electronic and non-electronic machine guarding systems related to the operation of metal forming and fabricating machinery, welding systems and metal cutting equipment. Also personal protective equipment (PPE), air handling systems, scrap and waste disposal systems, reporting systems and other devices and techniques used for OSHA and EPA regulatory compliance.
