New operations manager fits well with O’Neal Flat Rolled Metals’ culture of lean manufacturing.

O’Neal Flat Rolled Metals (OFR Metals; Brighton, CO) recently added Dan McAllister to their team as the operations manager of their metal processing facility in Ogden, UT. OFR Metals stresses a culture of continuous improvement/lean methodologies, and McAllister’s strong background in lean manufacturing pairs well with current operations at the Ogden facility.

Prior to joining OFR Metals, McAllister worked for Autoliv as a production manager and lean consulting coordinator. Having helped establish and maintain lean manufacturing at Autoliv, he is ready to move forward the lean ideal of continuous improvement at OFR Metals.

“I’m excited to be at the Ogden facility,” says McAllister. “I am thrilled to be able to use my background in lean and management to build on the facility’s lean operations and bring them to the next level of improvement on the floor.”

O’Neal Flat Rolled Metals is a leading supplier of carbon, stainless, and aluminum flat rolled products. With headquarters in Brighton, OFR Metals has nearly 20 locations nationwide that serve customers in diverse markets including construction, food service equipment, transportation, HVAC, sheet metal fabrication, medical, automotive, and many others.

OFR Metals is one of more than a dozen companies that comprise O’Neal Industries (Birmingham, AL), the largest family-owned group of metals service centers in the U.S. With sales of approximately $2.5 billion in 2012, O’Neal Industries is based in Birmingham and has more than 90 specialized facilities throughout North America, South America, Europe, and Asia. www.ofrmetals.com, onealind.com
