Red Bud Industries (Red Bud, IL) recently completed the installation of a 0.625 in (16 mm) x 76 in (2,000 mm) heavy gage cut-to-length line with stretcher leveler for Ratner Steel Supply Company (Roseville, MN), a steel service center. This was Ratner’s fourth stretcher leveler purchased from Red Bud and was installed at their new facility in Osceola, AR.

The new line features the T2 series stretcher leveler with a 40 ft (12 m) stretch bed. This unit also includes proprietary “quick draw” technology that produces one of the fastest stretch cycle times in the industry. SUREGRIP® long life metallic grippers and a powered gripper extraction system were provided. The line features 60,000 lb (27,000 kg) stack tables with 60 in (1,524 mm) of vertical lift that allows the plant to process an entire coil onto a single stack for improved material handling and throughput. The line can handle coils up to 80,000 lb (36,000 kg). It consists of an entry coil car, dual uncoiler, heavy gage peeler/breaker, pop top precision 4-hi flattener, stretcher leveler, servo roll feed, variable rake shear, heavy gage drop stacker, 60,000 lb (27,000 kg) stack tables, and end discharge rollouts.
