Through direct clamping, one Power Milling Chuck from Seco Tools can hold cylindrical shank 0.75 in and 1.25 in diameter tools and Weldon shank tools of 0.75 in diameters. By using reduction sleeves, the chuck accommodates shank diameters in cylindrical plain, Weldon and Whistle Notch tools from 0.25 in up to 1.00 in. Its nut and needle-bearing design delivers superior clamping power with minimal tightening force/torque requirements.
To maximize face milling operations on lower horsepower machine tools, the Double Quattromill 14 face milling cutter from Seco Tools uses double-sided inserts with eight cutting edges. For better chip thinning and higher feed rates, its 45 deg angle version excels in weak or unstable fixturing to achieve depths of cut up to 0.236 in. With better clearance to avoid sidewalls or part fixturing, its 68 deg angle version reaches higher depths of cut up to 0.315 in.

Through direct clamping technology, one Power Milling Chuck can hold cylindrical shank 0.75 in and 1.25 in (20 mm, 32 mm) diameter tools and Weldon shank tools of 0.75 in (20 mm) diameters. With the use of reduction sleeves, the chuck accommodates shank diameters in cylindrical plain, Weldon and Whistle Notch tools from 0.25 in up to 1.00 in (6 mm up to 25 mm). These chucks secure milling tools for roughing and finishing operations, as well as drilling and tapping tools.

To avoid the clamping problems often associated with the steel-to-steel contact on collet chucks, these chucks provide numerous innovative advantages, including a nut and needle-bearing design for superior clamping power with minimal tightening force/torque requirements. Optional coolant-stop screws enable these chucks to engage through-tool coolant with no additional expense of ancillary equipment such as heating or hydraulic units. Power Milling Chucks are made for HSK-A, Seco-Capto™, DIN, BT and BT taper-face, and ANSI (CAT) and ANSI (CAT) taper face spindle interfaces. Each chuck includes spanner wrench, stop screw and operating instructions, with a hook spanner for sleeve extraction available as a separate option.

For cost effectiveness and increased depths of cut in roughing, semi-finishing and finishing operations, this cutter uses double-sided inserts with eight cutting edges. The Double Quattromill 14 achieves depths of cut up to 0.236 in (6 mm) with its 45 deg lead angle version and up to 0.315 in (8 mm) with its 68 deg version. For better chip thinning and higher feed rates, the 45 deg angle excels in weak or unstable fixturing. With better clearance to avoid sidewalls or part fixturing than the 45 deg angle, the 68 deg angle reaches high depths of cut with the same size inscribed circle (IC) on the insert. This milling cutter extends tool life while it lowers cutting forces and machine power consumption with its extremely free cutting qualities.

Available in standard or close pitch and in metric or inch versions, Double Quattromill 14 cutter bodies come in fixed-pocket and cassette styles. For enhanced chip control and evacuation as well as durability, a new surface texture technology is applied to the cutter’s body flute surfaces. To provide flexible options, the milling cutter comes in three insert ranges with various edges and grades. The ME10 geometry works with sticky materials such as titanium and stainless steel. The M10 geometry includes sharper edges and smaller T lands for reduced cutting force that excels at lower horsepower levels, working with sticky materials, some tool steels and super alloys. The M16 provides the best edge protection of the three insert geometries when machining abrasive materials such as steels, tool steels and cast irons.
