Laguna Tools, Inc. (Irvine, CA) has completed the acquisition of Dake Corporation (Grand Haven, MI), a metalworking company specializing in presses, bandsaws, and other machine tools, from parent company JSJ Corporation (Grand Haven, MI). The acquisition will provide them with a solid and diverse platform for the continued development of their metalworking line of products and offerings.

Laguna Tools’ chief executive officer, Stephen Stoppenbrink commented, “This acquisition will build upon our presence and market share in the metalworking space. Dake has skillfully built its brand, and by combining forces we will take it to the next level. We contiue to be impressed by the dedication, loyalty, and skill across the board with their team – we are excited and eager to see what we will all accomplish together.”

“We intend to preserve and build upon the DNA that has made them successful in the industry,” states Brian Rosenberger, the chief operating officer at Laguna. “A company like theirs that has been in business for well over 130 years knows a thing or two about longevity; we’ll be looking to leverage that knowledge.”

“We welcome their team, products, and heritage to the Laguna family, and are excited about the future,” said Torben Holshoj, the company founder and president. “Their addition will instantaneously further our presence in the metalworking world.”

Laguna currently occupies two main facilities, Irvine CA (headquarters) and West Columbia, SC. They will be expanding operations into a 3rd facility in Dallas, TX scheduled to open February 2020. The company also has a location in Minnesota, and now Michigan, with this acquisition.
