The R12 is a 12-megapixel version of the AICON SmartScan white light scanning system from Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence (North Kingstown, RI). The 3D optical scanner’s higher resolution makes it suitable for high-speed, high-accuracy measurement of small-to-medium sized parts.
As with other scanners in AICON range, the SmartScan R12’s fields of view (FOVs) are quickly and easily changed. That makes the unit ideal for third-party metrology contractors whose equipment must meet the challenges of a wide range of applications and industries, providing a completely flexible measurement system capable of handling even dark and glossy surfaces.
The SmartScan R12 is compatible with turntable and turn-tilt units that allow for high-productivity semiautomated measurement processes. Combining the SmartScan R12 with AICON DPA Series photogrammetry solutions allows for extremely fast and accurate measurement of larger-volume components.
