Specialized Micrometers Solve Five Measuring Dilemmas

Mahr Inc.’s series of Micromar 40EWR micrometers measure myriad unique part features that standard micrometers can’t. The digital micrometers are designed to perform five specialized measuring tasks:

  • 40-EWR-R/40-EWRi-R micrometers with spherical and flat anvils for measuring wall thickness
  • 40-EWR-S/40-EWRi-S micrometers with non-rotating blade anvils for measuring grooves and slots
  • 40-EWR-B/40-EWRi-B micrometers with 3-mm-diameter measuring faces for recesses and spline shafts
  • 40-EWR-K/40-EWRi-K micrometers with blade and point contact for measuring wire crimps
  • 40-EWR-V/40-EWRi-V universal micrometer kits with interchangeable contacts for measuring diameters over balls, threads, and other special lengths.

All feature a large, high-contrast display, tolerance limits to qualify the part, built-in reference system so you only have to set zero position once, and a hold function (digital lock) that “freezes” values so they can be easily read. All are IP65-rated for operation in harsh manufacturing conditions.

All models can be ordered with a MarConnect data output (USB, RS-232, or Digimatic) or Mahr’s integrated wireless data transmission capability that transfers data to an i-Stick on a computer instead of using cables.

MarCom software makes data acquisition simple: Take a measurement and transmit data directly into Microsoft Excel or via a keyboard code into any Windows program or existing SPC application – no need for external transmitters or cumbersome cables. A message on the micrometer’s display confirms if data has been transferred correctly.

Thanks to Mahr’s patented integrated radio and transmission technology, the micrometer is compact and consumes little energy.
