Machining Center Handles Large Workpieces in a Small Footprint

The NU550 5-axis machining center is part of Campro USA’s (Bethlehem, PA) second generation of 5-axis machines that give workshops the versatility to machine complex components without the expense or large footprint of a swivel head machine. NU550’s unique bridge design allows a large workpiece to be machined in a smaller footprint and is more rigid than a standard C-frame design.

The one-piece Monobloc column and base structure provides rigid, stable machining performance. It features heavy-duty roller guideways for smooth transitions during high speed, small movements.

Utilizing a state-of-the-art trunnion table for enhanced machining accuracies, NU550 features a direct drive 12,000 RPM BIG PLUS spindle, which allow shops to produce high-accuracy parts with excellent finishes. The machine can also be part of a manufacturing cell using automatic loading, machine transfer robotics or AGV transfers.
