ROEQ Launches Products that Boost Payloads, Lifting Capabilities of Autonomous Mobile Robots

ROEQ ApS (Vissenbjerg, Denmark) has introduced a new top module and accompanying accessory that can boost the payload and lifting capabilities of autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) made by MiR (Mobile Industrial Robots A/S) of Odense, Denmark.

Posted: October 14, 2021

Using the new top module TMS-C1500, a MiR1000 or MiR1350 AMR can be deployed on applications with payloads of up to 1,500 kg (3,307 lbs.), enabling MiR AMRs to be deployed in applications with heavier payloads. Similarly, the top module allows a MiR500 or MiR600 AMR to be deployed on applications with payloads of up to 800 kg.

When the top module is combined with a shelf cart S-Cart1500W, an AMR can handle many different sizes and types of payloads. The cart has a cargo area larger than a U.S. pallet and has increased tilt stability with wheels placed further apart, enabling safer deployment.

When combined, the top module and shelf cart increase the payload capabilities of the MiR500, MiR600, MiR1000, and MiR1350.

With no need for a docking station, the top module TMS-C1500 can pick up and drop off the shelf cart in free space and can then immediately go and pick up a new one.

“The TMS-C1500 provides a powerful boost for your AMR’s payload capabilities, enabling end users to repurpose compact AMRs for applications involving the transport of larger and heavier items,” said Michael Ejstrup Hansen, managing director of ROEQ.

Another new product is the top module lifter TML200. It has a stroke of 40 mm that can lift loads carried by the MiR250 AMR. The loads can be crates, pallets, racks, and ROEQ shelf carts. The TML200 comes with a pick-up cargo sensor that prevents it from picking up additional cargo if the TML200 is already loaded.

Also, there are accessories that expand the MiR250’s range of applications. According to ROEQ, the expanded range may often eliminate a company’s need to add more expensive solutions, such as conveyors. The accessories include the PR250 pallet rack, which allows for pick up and drop off via bar marker; the S-Cart300L cart for free space pick up and drop off, and the TML200 forks for pick up of cargo that has an uneven bottom, such as half Euro-pallets.

“ROEQ understands that warehouse and logistics facilities need to do more with less, and we develop MRE solutions designed to face this challenge. ROEQ solutions are good for your bottom line, your productivity, your throughput, and your safety,” Hansen said.

Also, all new ROEQ products come with the company’s Assist software. Assist is designed to simplify integration, enhance productivity, and streamline setup by loading pre-coded missions into a MiR robot. A mission can then be modified in the MiR interface.

The software also provides pre-defined footprints and tailored safety zones that fit ROEQ equipment. On ROEQ cart solutions, the zones are activated automatically by the top module. The result? According to ROEQ, the robot can then navigate its missions safely and effectively.

ROEQ provides mobile robotic equipment (MRE).
