Wintriss Announces Die Protection and Automatic Data Collection FABTECH Presentations

Wintriss Controls Group has announced that Wintriss Product Manager Jim Finnerty will be making two educational conference presentations at FABTECH 2022 located at the Georgia World Congress Convention Center, Atlanta GA. Finnerty is an industry authority on automated press controls and OEE/ data collection/ production monitoring software. Stampers, metal formers and fabricators are welcome and encouraged to register and attend these educational presentations.

On November 9th from 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. in Room #B316, Finnerty will present “Sensors for Die Protection – Make Die Crashes a Thing of the Past”. Attendees will learn how to get the most out of their die-protection systems. Recent advances have made these important monitoring devices more powerful and more forgiving. Finnerty will discuss the proper use of control functions and features, and identify the three most important factors to consider when selecting a system. How to select and properly apply the right sensor for any application including tricks and tips for sensor selection, installation, wiring and maintenance, and the advantages and limitations of each sensor types will be presented.

On November 10th from 9 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. in Room #B304, Finnerty will present “Automatic Data Collection from Any Machine – Methods and Benefits”. The presentation will cover how the expectations for data collection have changed significantly through the years, and provide effective ways to automatically collect machine data. The most important functions of a modern machine data collection system are to provide in real time, the status of every machine/process, the accurate tracking of Key Performance Indicators (KPI) that enable measurable process improvements, and the ability to quickly notify specific troubleshooters to the existence of production issues. Various use cases will showcase protocols for connecting machines equipped with modern controls and retrofit options for machinery with rudimentary or outdated controllers. Finnerty will also present the five most important considerations for collecting data that is accurate, timely, and unbiased, as well as the fatal errors that most users never see coming. In addition, various ROI scenarios will be analyzed, so that attendees will be able to determine how quickly their investment can be returned.
