Federal Tool & Engineering LLC, a privately held West Bend, Wisconsin company founded in 1925 that provides metal stampings, fabrications, and welded assemblies to leading original equipment manufacturers in North America, was awarded a Wisconsin Manufacturer of the Year award in the Small Business Category at a Feb. 16 reception in Milwaukee.

Sponsored by the advisory firm of Baker Tilly, the law firm of Michael Best & Friedrich LLP and Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce, the combined state chamber and manufacturers’ association, the Wisconsin Manufacturer of the Year award program recognizes the state’s top manufacturers of all sectors and sizes for their commitment to quality careers, good business practices, financial growth, innovative processes, and reinvestment into local communities.

“Receiving the recognition as the Grand Award Winner in the Small Business Category for the Wisconsin Manufacturer of the Year is an honor that we hold in high regard,” said David Tomczek, Co-Owner and President of Federal Tool & Engineering. “It is with great pride and responsibility that we uphold not only our standard of excellence, but also the standard of excellence set by the 33 companies that came before us and received this commendation.”

The award honored Federal Tool & Engineering for its dedication to designing and manufacturing quality products, emphasizing automation and robotics, a commitment to operational and workplace safety, maintaining a family-first culture, stressing a diverse workforce, and for its commitment to the community through funding and participation in area events.

“I am so very proud of the amazing Federal Tool & Engineering workforce. Their selfless dedication to the company, each other, and ultimately our extraordinary customer base shines through every day they walk through our doors,” Tomczek said. “Their diverse knowledge and skills allow us to provide all stakeholders associated with our company with exceptional value.

“Receiving third party recognition that our approach to business is at a level with the ‘best of the best’ manufacturers in Wisconsin validates we are on the right path to providing great value to our customers, a secure and rewarding future for our employees, and good stewardship to our community,” he said.

Parts and assemblies manufactured by Federal Tool & Engineering, 2150 Stonebridge Road in West Bend, are used in commercial and industrial generators, commercial foodservice equipment, commercial and vehicle lighting and steering, communication equipment, and medical applications. The company’s BrawnTec product line of utility carts, tables, and stands offers electrical and plumbing contractors the ability to manage more effectively, secure, and transport materials and tools needed on the jobsite, and improved transportation of in-process materials in a wide variety of workplace settings.
