Sunnen's SV-10 Cylinder Honing Machine combines power, precision and technology to deliver state-of-the-art automatic cylinder sizing. The SV-10 is a versatile automatic cylinder hone capable of handling cylinder diameters from two to eight inches for all types of blocks, from single-cylinder and high-performance engines to diesel truck and industrial blocks up to 42 inches.

The machine's user-friendly touch-screen control includes a patented full-bore profile display which projects a real time graphical image of the bore cross section, allowing the operator to see where the bore is smaller and manually correct taper without guesswork. The SV-10 comes standard with auto dwell, roughing and finishing cycles. Auto dwell allows unattended operation as the machine automatically dwells in the tightest part of the bore ? top, middle or bottom ? and selectively removes stock to produce a straight, round bore. The roughing cycle removes stock fast, then automatically switches to finishing for the correct crosshatch angle.

Variable spindle rpm and stroke speed enable infinite crosshatch angles for any bore diameter and cylinder length combination. With two motors, one for the spindle (3 hp/ 2.25 kW) and one for the stroker (1 hp/ .75 kW), the SV-10 has the capability to run standard Sunnen tools as well as Sunnen's DH-series diamond hone head. The DH-series diamond hone, with 16 points of cutting action, spreads out force to produce rounder cylinder bores faster, improving engine performance and productivity. The SV-10's mechanical stroke produces a precision surface finish with consistent crosshatch angle from cylinder to cylinder, regardless of which tool is used.
