GF AgieCharmilles's FI440CCS wire EDM combines groundbreaking ease of use with maximum reliability, proven performance and world class speed. Flexible and fast, the FI440CCS is capable of machining materials with a wide variety of wire diameters, enabling it to yield a 38 in2/hr. production rate with a 0.012 in Econotec brass wire to save up to 30 percent cutting time and reduce wire cost.

Additionally, the FI440CCS features GF AgieCharmilles' new Surface Expert, patented Spark Generator Software that ensures high accuracy and excellent surface finish in cutting both straight and tapered parts. The FI440CCS is also equipped with the energy efficient CC generator, a digital generator based on high-tech components. From roughing to finishing, the CC generator is 'zero voltage' to protect parts against electrolytic effects. As a result, users benefit from dramatically improved machining speed and surface integrity, as well as exceptional clean surface quality of less than RMS 4 µ-inch of machined material.

ThermoCut and Integrated Collision Protection (ICP) also come standard on the FI440CCS. ThermoCut, a unique high-speed and maintenance-free wire threading system, boosts productivity by stretching wire and cutting it under the effect of heat, bringing the spark-to-spark time down to less than 24 seconds. Additionally, the collision protection works effectively at a high XYUV feed-rate of 2 ips, allowing the FI440CCS to cut variable work piece thicknesses like mold inserts.
