ESCO Tool (Holliston, MA) has introduced an air-powered panel saw, which is offered with two easy-to-setup methods for cutting old boiler tube panels, as well as trimming new panels for an exact fit-up.

The APS-438 Air-Powered Saw features an efficient 3 hp motor that requires only 80 cfm @90 psi to drive a fiberglass reinforced blade for cutting Inconel, stainless steel and other hard tubes. To speed power plant maintenance, it can be supplied with a track that attaches by using weld tabs for removing old panels and a quick-clamp track system for trimming new panels.

Eliminating the need for tube rework before end prepping, the APS-438 Air-Powered Saw produces a perfectly square cut with ±1/8-in accuracy and no heat-affected zone. Weighing only 28 lb, this 3 hp pneumatic saw is available with fiberglass or carbide-tipped steel blades 8 in to 12 in OD. The saw glides along both types of rigid tracks to assure a clean cut.
