Bystronic (Hauppauge, NY) expanded the standard range for its Xpert press brake up to 1,000 tons (1,100 US tons) and 10.2 m (33 ft) in length. Formerly the standard range extended to 800 tons (880 US tons) and 8.2 m (27 ft). The Xpert Mammut range of press brakes is still available, with the range now starting at 1,250 tons (1,375 US tons) up to 3,000 tons (3,300 US tons) and up to 18.4 m (60 ft) in length. The Xpert offers an accuracy and repeatability unmatched in its class.

The Xpert hydraulic press brake is equipped with the pressure reference system, which is controlled by a precise multi-axis controller engineered by Bystronic. The control system is based on a modular electronic system in conjunction with modern block hydraulics. A comprehensive and expandable database supplies all necessary values during the bending process. The database, which contains all of the relevant bend-technology data, is activated by a push of a button. With the embedded database, both the programming and the operation of the machine become very simple, even for inexperienced operators.

The Xpert press brake features automatic frame deflection compensation, pressure reference technology, dynamic hydraulic crowning of the lower beam, dynamic pressure regulation, automatic tool protection and material thickness measurement compensation. With these features the Xpert press brake delivers high accuracy for exceptional part quality, superior repeatability, easy operation and reduced setup with less scrap.
