This much lighter, fire resistant, tough tooling alternative to traditional metal tubing is ideal for crossbar beams, loading and unloading beams, destacking beams, panel loading T-booms, and tooling supports for bodyshop, pressroom, injection molding and other robot tending operations.

Carbon fiber (CF) tooling from Bilsing Automation North America (Atlanta, GA) is ideal for robotic applications, with a significant lighter weight difference versus traditional metal tubing, as well as fire-resistance and toughness. Given its lightweight yet durable structure, CF tooling can reduce cycle times and improve cadence as compared to aluminum and steel tube tooling.

According to the company, customers can achieve up to 20 percent increase in productivity after equipping robots with carbon fiber booms. Potential CF applications include crossbar beams, loading and unloading beams, destacking beams, panel loading t-booms, and tooling supports for bodyshop, pressroom, injection molding and other operations.

Bilsing Automation North America is a subsidiary of Bilsing Automation GmbH (Attendorn, Germany), a global leader in the development and manufacturing of modular tooling systems for the pressroom, body shop and plastic molding applications in the automotive, food, packaging and glass industries.
