Mate Precision Tooling (Anoka, MN) offers the ValuGrind™ high precision grinder for easy punch and die maintenance that lets fabricators precisely regrind punches and dies to maintain optimum condition for the highest quality parts production. Available for either Thick Turret or Trumpf style tooling, the grinder comes completely fixtured.

ValuGrind has many unique features, including an extra large 165 mm diameter diamond grinding wheel for optimal punch and die finish that ensures superior surface flatness compared to standard 125 mm CBN and ceramic grinding wheels. It uses an inner wheel cooling system that places coolant directly where needed, reducing excessive heat build-up that could damage the tooling.

A powerful 1050 watt motor delivers 4050 rpm for high speed, precise surface finish. Competitive grinders operate with slower, less powerful 550 and 750 rpm motors. The grinder has precise grind depth control that is easily set in 0.02 mm increments for a precise finish to avoid overgrinding. Its compact, portable tabletop design (820 x 520 x 675 mm) makes this grinder easy to operate where space is limited.

Handles all Mate thick turret tooling styles including Original, AMX, MT, MTG, MTG Long, MXC, Ultra and all A through E station sizes. (Also handles equivalent sized competitor thick turret tooling). The grinder also handles all Mate Size 1 and Size 2 Trumpf style tooling products, including Next, QuickLock and Multi Tool tooling. (Also handles equivalent sized competitor Trumpf style tooling.) “Proper tooling maintenance is probably the best way to ensure long life and part quality,” reports John Galich, Mate marketing manager. “We’re pleased to offer this affordable grinder that is loaded with features not available elsewhere.”
