Corporate Profile: TRUMPF, Inc.

An overview of the company and its organization, products, services and capabilities.

Posted: April 26, 2012

The company is committed to maintaining a leadership role in providing quality, state-of-the-art technology to customers. TRUMPF Inc. invests heavily in research and development. TRUMPF’s core business is machine tools for flexible sheet metal processing
that include punching and forming, laser processing and bending. Standardized system components enable automated production solutions.

This wide spectrum of stationary machines is rounded off by portable power tools for sheet metal working. TRUMPF power tools for cutting, fastening and beveling are made for use with a variety of metals. Industries that benefit from TRUMPF’s power tools include roofing and wall, container and steel construction, demolition and tank disassembly, car and railway construction, heating and air conditioning, and plumbing and sheet metal processing— to name just a few.

Within its Power Tools Division, TRUMPF has introduced its popular, next generation slat cleaner, the TruTool TSC 100, which removes even stubborn, stainless steel slag. Capable of one-person operation, the TruTool TSC 100 slat cleaner can also remove mild steel and aluminum slag. It can be used on laser flatbed machines with an output of up to 7 kW, and it removes slag from the sides of the slats as well as in spacesbetween and right up to the pallet frame.

The modified design of the new tool is a major factor it its high quality cleaning results and efficiency. Powerful scrubbing and finishing rollers were previously used to break up the slag. Now the slats are thoroughly scraped by two powerful, toothed cleaning rollers running in parallel. The TruTool TSC 100 is able to remove any material that the laser can cut—in only 30 minutes for a standard 5 ft x 10 ft pallet.

Up until a few years ago, cleaning slats required hammers and chisels and took many hours to complete. Alternatively, machine operators immediately replaced heavilyslagged slats — and expensive undertaking that is now a thing of the past.
