Arbor Adapter Accommodates Standard Tools with ¾ In Weldon Shanks

The Slugger® QuickIn Arbor Adapter from FEIN Power Tools enables Slugger machines to use HSS annular cutters plus chucks and other attachments with ¾ in Weldon shanks without the need for time consuming keys or wrenches, and expands the magnetic drill for tapping, countersinking, reaming and using twist drills.

The Slugger® QuickIn Arbor Adapter from FEIN accommodates industry standard tools having ¾ in Weldon shanks and will work on three new Slugger machines that accept Morse taper tool holders. The adapter is offered as an optional accessory, but is being included with Slugger 2-speed drills as an introductory promotion.

FEIN Power Tools, Inc. (Pittsburgh, PA), a world leader in the manufacture of portable metalworking power tools, has introduced a new Slugger® QuickIn Arbor Adapter specifically for use in its newer Slugger 2-speed models of German built magnetic drills.

To install a new QuickIN arbor adapter, the existing arbor is removed by simply tapping out its #3 Morse taper shank, inserting the new arbor adapter and tightening the knurled nut making it ready to receive annular cutters or accessories with ¾ inWeldon shanks. The QuickIN arbor’s design will not allow a false seating because an inserted Weldon shank will not lock in place until both balls in the arbor are in alignment with both its flats. The new QuickIn arbor adapters are available for use with either 2 in or 3 in depth annular cutters.

Once the new arbor is installed, the German made Slugger machines will be able to use HSS annular cutters plus chucks and other attachments with ¾ in Weldon shanks without the need for time consuming keys or wrenches. Inserting a chuck expands the magnetic drill for tapping, countersinking, reaming and using twist drills.

FEIN, founded in 1867 invented the first power tool — the electric hand drill — in 1895. Today, the long-established company is a power tool manufacturer that holds more than 800 active property rights, including approximately 500 patents and patent applications. FEIN products are distributed worldwide through 19 international subsidiaries and more than 50 agents.
