Oberg Expands Leadership Team and Hires Director of Manufacturing
Mark Pelo has been hired as the director of manufacturing to help align the organization for future growth in contract manufacturing of precision metal components and assemblies.

Oberg Industries (Freeport, PA), a full-service contract manufacturer of precision metal components and assemblies, has hired Mark Pelo as their director of manufacturing to help align the organization for future growth. Pelo will be responsible for overseeing the manufacturing operations of Oberg’s “Turning” disciplines as well as developing and maintaining the company’s high levels of quality, delivery, and continuous improvement processes. He will report to Oberg’s chief operating officer, Rich Bartek.
“Mark brings a wealth of process development knowledge and expertise within the manufacturing industry having spent the last 11 years with Medtronic Spinal & Biologics where he was instrumental in developing new cost-effective manufacturing processes and acquiring several patents. As we continue to work with our customer partners with a joint focus on design for manufactureability, Mark became a natural fit to complement and lead our internal team because of his strong experience and background,” said Bartek.
Pelo has more than 28 years experience as an engineer and senior manager of manufacturing process development. Prior to Medtronic Spinal & Biologics, he has also served as a senior manufacturing engineer with DePuy and held a variety of other management positions. Pelo has a B.S. Degree in Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering from Indiana Tech.
