Harbour Results, Inc., (HRI; Orlando, FL) a leading business and operational consultant firm for the manufacturing industry, has announced Clinton Aluminum, Inc. (Clinton, OH) as a PRO-level partner of its newest product offering, Harbour IQTM.

Harbour IQ is the global source for performance benchmarking, trends, and financial and operational data for the tool and die industry. Partners and participants have access to relevant data and information that can be aggregated and queried into custom reports as well as manufacturing trend reports, white papers and various other technical reports. Harbour IQ unlocks the key to never-before-seen data and information critical to manufacturers in developing a successful long-term business strategy while managing the day-to-day business.

A leading distributor of aluminum plate products, Clinton Aluminum is among the first companies to sponsor Harbour IQ and will add valuable content to the online system. As part of its PRO-level partnership, Clinton Aluminum will provide industry-related white papers and technology insights that will be available to Harbour IQ participants.

“We are excited to be a part of this,” said Ted McQuade, the president and chief executive officer of Clinton Aluminum. “In addition to providing the right alloys for our customers, as their partner we strive to add value and strengthen the entire manufacturing value chain. This tool will help the industry make smart business decisions through real-time data and information.”

As technology and the industry evolve, aluminum molds are playing a bigger role in manufacturing. There are a number of benefits, including cost, process and production improvements, which make aluminum the better choice for many injection mold applications for production parts. Although a majority of molds continue to be built with steel, aluminum can reduce cycle time in the press by up to 50 percent, reducing part cost. It also can be rough machined eight to 10 times faster than steel, thereby improving the capacity problem in the mold-making industry that has been highlighted by HRI since October 2013.

“Clinton Aluminum has been a long-time partner with HRI in our effort to drive improvement in the tool and die industry, and we welcome them to Harbour IQ,” said Laurie Harbour, the president and chief executive officer of HRI. “Aluminum is a major technology shift for many companies and it will play a role in the evolution of the tool business. The information they add to Harbour IQ will be beneficial to the industry.”

According to Harbour, “we have been sharing impactful data and insights to the industry since 2009. Harbour IQ allows us to further expand our scope and depth of information we can provide and, ultimately, have a bigger impact.”
