SyncFab (Silicon Valley, CA), a premiere online invention platform and additive manufacturing product development marketplace that connects growing product businesses with established regional manufacturers, has expanded its network to include the shops and 3D print services of the Bay Area Advanced Manufacturing Hub (BAAM) coalition in Silicon Valley by unveiling its new Version 1.5 web user interface (UI) update that helps growing product businesses collaborate online with manufacturers, suppliers, designers and engineers. Shops that are interested may view SyncFab 1.5 and register their free profile.

“Our nimbleness as a growing company allows us to quickly incorporate user feedback and upgrade our platform from our version 1.0 release of July 4, 2015,” said Jeremy Goodwin, the chief executive officer of SyncFab. “Our newly introduced features include upfront request for quotes, RFQs, for budget-minded open source product developers as well as upfront request for proposals, RFPs, for inventors with budget and intellectual property requirements.”

In addition to upgrading the RFQ and RFP process, the user registration process and a technical drawing bid-matching system for RFQs have also been streamlined. “We are working to create a seamless user experience to simplify the sourcing process from a rich but opaque local supply chain,” added Goodwin. “We are excited to work with the Bay Area Advanced Manufacturing coalition and expand our additive manufacturing supply chain to better serve both our and their customers. We will continue to forge similar strategic partnerships adding value for our users.”

“We see great synergy between us and them,” said Espen Sivertsen, the chief executive officer of Type A Machines (San Leandro, CA) and founder of BAAM. “We can offer a comprehensive portfolio of additive manufacturing services to their customers. They will also play an important role supporting our mission of integrating the 3D printing ecosystem to create a seamless user experience offering order aggregation, design on demand and go-to-market consulting for our members and customers.”
