MecSoft Corporation (Irvine, CA) has announced the release of VisualIMPORT for CAD software from Onshape Inc. (Cambridge, MA). VisualIMPORT for Onshape allows access to the users’ on-line Onshape account from inside VisualCAD, enabling users to view and import part files from their Onshape account. Once imported into VisualCAD, users can utilize VisualCAD plug-ins such as VisualCAM to create cutter paths for CNC machining (Subtractive Manufacturing) and Visual3DPRINT to make the models amenable for 3D printing (Additive Manufacturing).

“We are extremely excited to partner with them to allow our mutual customers access to their Onshape part files for the purposes of manufacturing them. We are also excited to be announcing this first ever CAM and 3D printing bridge to the Onshape product, the only truly cloud-based CAD product in the market today. We look forward to working with Onshape in the near future bringing additional new innovations to the changing CAD/CAM market,” said Joe Anand, the president and chief executive officer of MecSoft.
