Cimcool® Fluid Technology (Cincinnati, OH) offers Cimperial 861 With InSol™ Technology, a hybrid lubricity, semi-synthetic metalworking fluid that is recommended for heavy-duty machining of non-ferrous and ferrous metals, including 6000 and 7000 series aluminum, stainless steels, titanium and other exotic alloys. It can also be used for grinding and is formulated to deliver extended sump life. The product is designed to increase tool life and provide superior lubricity while remaining low foaming for today’s demanding high pressure applications. Cimperial 861 With InSol Techno has low chemical odor and is mild to the skin.

This hybrid semi-synthetic maximizes tool life without compromising part quality and handles machining needs by delivering superior cooling and lubricity directly to the point of cut when compared to other semi-synthetic or micro-soluble technology. Cimperial 861 With InSol Techno is stain resistant when tested on 6000 and 7000 series aluminum, titanium and stainless steels alloys.

Insol technology, coupled with unique surfactants and inhibitors, provides excellent multi-metal performance without the use of extreme pressure additives. Productivity gains up to 20 percent have been observed when compared to chlorinated lubricants, and the technology works on both machining and grinding operations. “InSol puts lubricant at the cut zone-tooling interface so the lubricant and cooling are optimized. Because it works through controlled water solubility, this great performance lasts longer due to low depletion rates. Best of all, it can help out on tough-to-process alloys without using materials that can drive waste hauling costs up,” explains Bruce Koehler, a product manager at Cimcool. “When you couple that with process savings, lower tooling usage and more productivity output, this is what shops need to help control costs and improve efficiency.”

What is InSol Technology? The performance is dependent upon blends of raw materials that have solubility ranges from limited to complete. By carefully optimizing the selected materials, that puts nearly 100 percent lubricant at the cut zone where it counts. But because the material is mostly water soluble, it virtually never depletes when regular makeup concentrate is added. “The reason these new products are so special is that we have seen grinding ratios increase by 50 percent and cutting forces decrease by 30 percent or more – both of which drive productivity and cost savings for our customers,” added Koehler. “Imagine using a fluid that virtually looks like water that can increase your productivity so significantly. We are using this technology in our new high performance fluids for high performance parts made from hard metal alloys, including titanium.”

Cimcool also offers multifunctional Cimpulse™ 51MP, Cimpulse 45MP and Cimpulse 33MP fluids that allow metalworking shops to utilize one fluid in their entire shop. In most cases, a Cimpulse fluid can be used to consolidate all the different fluids being used within their plant. These fluids have been formulated for use in both high-pressure systems and standard flood applications. Cimpulse metalworking fluids utilize a hybrid blend of lubricants to deliver superior mix stability and reduced tool wear as well as provide long sump life. For example, Cimpulse 51MP is a multipurpose non-chlorinated, triazine-free fluid that provides excellent high-pressure foam and corrosion control. It keeps machines and parts clean and provides emulsion stability, long sump life and good bio-control, and can help shops reduce their inventory and improve their metalworking operations. Whether a shop has a preference for oil or not, they can select a Cimpulse product to suit every application need. Cimpulse 51MP has delivered:

  • 10 percent better cutting forces compared to traditional competitors
  • 10 percent better grinding ratios compared to traditional competitors
  • 20 percent lower foaming in high pressure foam tests compared to traditional competitors
