Two More Distributors Become Part of DMG MORI Direct Sales and Service

Boldt Machinery and Triad Machine Tool are now part of this new business model.

Posted: September 3, 2016

DMG MORI USA (Hoffman Estates, IL) is pleased to announce that Boldt Machinery Inc. (Waterford, PA) and Triad Machine Tool Company (Wheat Ridge, CO) are now part of their Direct Sales and Service structure. This decision is based on the long established relationship with the distributors and the desire to sustain the successful cooperation. As of October 1, 2015, DMG MORI USA has rapidly expanded with over 800 employees working for the organization and over 250 service and application engineers available for immediate support. The company continues to evolve its business model and strives to provide its customers with the highest level of service through their local and global network.

The family-owned machine tool distributor Boldt Machinery first opened in 1953 as Boldt Machinery and Tool under the leadership of Arthur E. Boldt and his son Arthur S. Boldt. They proudly sold their first Mori Seiki machine in 1976 to begin a 40-year relationship between the two companies that has proven to be mutually successful for both them and customers. Boldt has been led since 2003 by Mike Ahrens, their first application engineer, and Bob Meade, their first service technician.

Beginning as a ten-person shop that served mainly northwestern Pennsylvania, DMG MORI Boldt now serves customers in Pennsylvania and Upstate New York with 17 service and parts employees: nine in sales, six in applications and two in administrative. Under the leadership of Bob Courville as the managing director of the Northeast and Ahrens as the regional director DMG MORI, Boldt is committed to providing the highest level of service to their customers. “The integration into the Direct Sales and Service structure is going to be a smooth transition,” noted Ahrens.

Triad Machine Tool emerged in 1984 under the direction and operation of Ted Redling and partner Dave Drain. They have sold DMG MORI machines for over 32 years. As the president and owner, Redling began as a service technician at the young age of 17, first working for Erickson Machinery (which recently joined DMG MORI as DMG MORI Iowa).

“Customer support has always been number one for our company. We believe that in joining this Direct Sales and Service structure, we can provide the best customer support and quick response times,” said Redling. “The most vital tool to success has been our 15 employees and their loyalty and support to our customer base.” After business partner Dave Drain retired, Mark Casella joined Triad as a partner and their application / service manager. Tim Traylor was hired as the sales manager. “These men have been key to our success and longevity,” added Redling.

Triad will be known as DMG MORI Triad under the leadership of Dr. Thorsten Schmidt of DMG MORI USA as their chief executive officer and Redling as the regional director of DMG MORI Triad. DMG MORI will hire all of the employees at Triad and will continue to serve their customers in the states of Colorado, New Mexico, and Eastern Wyoming.
