In Booth N-3923, LORD Corporation (Cary, NC), a developer of adhesives, coatings, motion management devices and sensing technologies, will introduce their new LORD® 850 and 852 Toughened Structural Acrylic Adhesives that, when used in conjunction with the Accelerator 25GB, are designed to replace welding, brazing, riveting and other mechanical fastening methods. These toughened structural adhesives perform particularly well in low- and high-temperature environments and applications that are subject to high impact, high-peel loads or high fatigue. They offer a range of working times to accommodate a wide variety of process requirements.

When mixed with the Accelerator 25GB, these adhesives create systems that bond with a wide variety of prepared or unprepared metals and some engineered plastics. The adhesive systems are specifically formulated to provide the highest impact and peel strengths available in a room temperature-curing adhesive with exceptional cohesive failure mode. The accelerator allows precise control of the adhesive bondline thickness due to its content of glass beads. It is non-flammable and virtually odorless and contains no solvent. LORD 850 and 852 Toughened Structural Acrylic Adhesives resist dilute acids, alkalis, solvents, greases, oils, moisture, salt spray and weathering and provide excellent resistance to indirect UV exposure. These adhesives will not sag and will remain in position when applied on vertical or overhead surfaces, allowing for greater process flexibility.
