AEC Announces New Board Members
R. Scott Kelley of Service Center Metals is elected chairman.

The Aluminum Extruders Council (AEC; Wauconda, IL) announced the results of their annual election of officers and directors at their 69th Annual Meeting & Leadership Conference last month in Coronado, CA. R. Scott Kelley, the president and chief executive officer of Service Center Metals (SCM; Prince George, VA), was elected to serve as the chairman of AEC. He has been a member of the AEC board of directors since 2013, when he served as an independent extruder director until he was elected to the executive committee in 2016 as the vice chairman of the Council.
Kelley has more than 32 years of sales and operations experience in the aluminum industry. Prior to founding SCM in 2001, he served as the national sales manager for Kaiser Aluminum, in charge of distribution marketing and sales activities, and as the national distribution market manager for Reynolds Metals Company, responsible for marketing, sales and strategic planning. “I am honored and excited to accept this chairmanship position,” said Kelley. “Our organization has become the champion of the extrusion and aluminum industry through the dedication and service of our members. Brook Massey, the president of MI Metals, Inc. (Oldsmar, FL), was elected to serve as vice chairman. Brook Hamilton, the president of Bonnell Aluminum (Newnan, GA), was elected to the at-large position on the executive committee. Matt McMahon, the president of Pries Enterprises (Independence, IA), was elected to serve as immediate past chairman, and Martin Bidwell, the president and chief executive officer of Magnode Corporation (Trenton, OH), was elected as past chairman. Also, Jeff Henderson was re-elected to the non-voting position as president of the Council.
In addition, two new members of the board of directors were elected: Joe Jackman, the president of Almag Aluminum (Brampton, ON), and Peter Hedman, the director of advanced product development and communications of Hydro Extrusion North America (Rosemont, IL), were elected to three-year terms as extruder directors. Armand Sanguigni, the president of Matalco, Inc. (Brampton, ON), was re-elected to a two-year term as producer director.
