Stack Metallurgical Enters Hot Isostatic Pressing

Stack Metallurgical Group (Portland, OR) is expanding their existing heat treating and metal processing portfolio with the addition of a Mega-HIP system from Quintus Technologies LLC (Lewis Center, OH): the QIH 286 M URC® hot isostatic press is equipped with proprietary uniform rapid cooling and features a large-capacity work zone of 63 in (1,600 mm) diameter and 102 in (2,591 mm) height, allowing densification of large batches at 29,000 psi (2,000 bar) and a maximum operating temperature of 2280 deg F (1,250 deg C).

The Mega-HIP order includes full installation and commissioning at Stack’s brand-new 25,000 sq ft facility in Albany, OR, along with a five-year Quintus® Care agreement, a comprehensive program that assures safe, trouble-free press operation and optimized press functionality at a fixed annual cost. This service includes rapid remote diagnostics, guaranteed availability of spare and wear parts, and valuable support in tool design and forming processes.
